Robbie Robertson and Sebastian, together with Keith Wortman of Blackbird Presents, present The Last Waltz tour as an homage to The Band’s final concert from 1976 as captured in Martin Scorsese’s legendary documentary film of that name.
This year’s lineup features Warren Haynes, Don Was, Jamey Johnson, and Kathleen Edwards, as well as special guest Taj Mahal for performances at Oakland’s Fox Theater and Los Angeles’s Orpheum Theatre.

Warren Haynes is one of the most revered guitarists of his generation. He began his career with David Allan Coe in 1980 and later joined the Allman Brothers Band and other acts before founding Gov’t Mule with bassist Allen Woody and drummer Matt Abts in 1987.
Haynes has been an integral member of Phil Lesh and Friends since 1999, appearing with other surviving members of the Grateful Dead in various groupings. Additionally, he has released several solo acoustic albums.
Blackbird Presents revived The Last Waltz franchise with “The Last Waltz New Orleans,” a two-night concert event that sold out. Haynes and Don will lead an upcoming tour featuring Kathleen Edwards, Jamey Johnson, Anders Osborne, Dave Malone, John Medeski, Cyril Neville, Terence Higgins, Mark Mullins, as well as Allen Toussaint-arranged Levee Horns arrangements (compliments of Blackbird Presents).
The Last Waltz Tour, a live celebration of The Band’s farewell concert from 1976 filmed for Martin Scorsese’s classic film, returns for its second year this November. Special guests will include Muddy Waters guitarist Bob Margolin, who performed onstage during that actual Last Waltz performance, as well as Robbie Robertson of Blackbird Presents, who are curating this tour that will play to sold-out theater audiences nationwide.
The Last Waltz Tour returns for a second year, honoring The Band’s 1976 Thanksgiving concert held at San Francisco’s Winterland Ballroom and featuring special guests such as Prince, Michael Jackson, and more. Johnson joined the Marines at age 18, serving eight years before enlisting at age 18. Johnson can turn any barroom floor into an intimate experience by delivering Hank Williams-esque ballads or honky tonk juggernauts alike. Furthermore, he writes songs for various artists, including George Strait and Gretchen Wilson as co-writer.

Osborne has been touring tirelessly since his 2010 Alligator Records debut, American Patchwork, was released. At age 68, Malone has made lifestyle adjustments that include drinking less Southern Comfort, cutting back his cigarette smoking, and taking cannabidiol to alleviate anxiety. He’s welcoming this new chapter of his life with enthusiasm and gratitude; he enjoys listening to new music releases while writing lyrics himself; traveling is also something he is keen on doing; recently returning from a Danube River cruise was his most recent adventure.

John Medeski is widely respected for his avant-garde jazz, funk, and jam music performances as one-third of MMW. Additionally, he leads several solo projects, such as The Word, Mad Skillet, Hudson, and various collaborations with John Zorn. A masterful keyboardist with unique techniques involving twisting, compressing, and processing the sounds from his instruments for unexpected textures – John is truly innovative!
Martin Scorsese famously described The Radiators’ 1976 Thanksgiving farewell concert as “the greatest concert ever,” so now Blackbird Presents and founding Band member Robbie Robertson are honoring it with a series of shows this fall.
