What Should My Age-Related Weight Be?

Many people seem curious about how much I should weigh for my age. Is there a relationship between your weight and your age? I have often wondered about it, and it appears to be a simple question to answer. Surely there must be some link between the two, right? What do you think? Wrong! Best way to find the age calculator.

There appears to be no correct or absolute answer to this question. Everybody’s body is different, and their chemistry and physiology differ in some or many ways. In other words, none of our bodies are identical in shape, height, muscle mass, etc.

While all of the above is correct, there is a critical calculation you or your doctor can perform to help determine whether you are underweight, the ideal weight, overweight, or obese. This is known as the Body Mass Index or BMI.

So, what is the BMI, what does it measure, and what does it mean?

The BMI calculates and applies to adult men and women and measures your body fat based on height and weight. However, it may surprise you that it does not consider age, even though it is widely acknowledged that a person’s age has at least some effect on their weight and overall health.

Your BMI will determine whether you are underweight, normal or ideal weight, overweight, or obese.

The four BMI classifications are as follows:

BMI less than 18.5 indicates that you are underweight.

Weight is average if your BMI is between 18.5 and 24.9.

Overweight – BMI ranges from 25 to 29.9

Obesity is defined as a BMI of 30 or higher.

So, do you want to know what your BMI is? Many BMI calculators on the Internet claim to provide you with a BMI. Still, I recommend you see your doctor because they have the necessary medical tools, instruments, and training to give you an accurate reading. I discovered that when I used online calculators, the results were not real.

Your weight, regardless of age, is critical to your overall health and mental well-being. And, as we all get older, it becomes increasingly important to maintain a healthy weight. Otherwise, as medical research and actual patient data have shown, being overweight or obese can lead to various serious medical complications, including, but not limited to, diabetes, high blood pressure, and other major health concerns.
