Why the Volvo V60 is a Great Choice

Whether you are looking for a small car or a large SUV, the Volvo V60 is a great option. It’s not only a stylish, fun car to drive, but it also has the capacity to handle rough terrain, and its interior has plenty of space to keep everyone comfortable.

Car-like ride and handling

Those interested in a wagon that delivers a car-like ride and handling should consider the Volvo V60. This SUV has a sporty look, a comfortable ride and a spacious interior. Powered by a pair of high-performance engines, the V60 can be ordered with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

Its interior is well-designed and comfortable, with a warm, soft feel. It features soft-touch materials and a wood-and-driftwood-inspired decor. The dashboard is sleek and a nine-inch touchscreen is standard. The load area is roomy, with a pop-up lateral boot divider and plenty of bag hooks.

The steering is light and responsive, and steering wheel controls are easy to use. The infotainment system is based on Google’s technology, and should be familiar to Android users.

Cargo space

Amongst its competitors, the Volvo XC60 is considered a small SUV, but it boasts a hefty trunk space. If you fold down the second row seats, the boot measures 41.5 inches wide and 30.6 inches tall. It can accommodate 20 carry-on suitcases. Alternatively, you can fold down the rear seats completely flat and have a massive 1,441 litres of cargo space.

The Volvo V60 has a plethora of features to help you get the most out of your cargo space. For starters, there is a power liftgate that is standard on all models. This feature allows you to load and unload cargo with ease. Also, there are large door bins around the car, which is a nice touch.

Rough-road capability

Designed to compete against the likes of the Volkswagen Passat Alltrack, the Volvo V60 Cross Country offers genuine off-road capabilities in a compact estate. Besides being available with all-wheel drive, the Cross Country adds a whole new dimension to an estate car.

Its off-road capabilities are backed up by a 6cm suspension lift, and a permanent all-wheel-drive system that distributes power where it is needed. Its standard eight-speed automatic transmission is quick, but the V60’s 187bhp D4 engine sounds less strained than the D3.

The Cross Country also gets a pair of new two-tone leather upholstery options, which includes a black leather and brown stitching option. Its infotainment system has a tablet-style touchscreen display, and it is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Seating for five people

Whether you’re looking for a luxury wagon or an all-wheel drive SUV, the Volvo V60 has something to offer. In fact, it’s an industry leader in the luxury wagon segment in the United States.

The V60 offers a large interior with two rows of seats and a cargo hold that is accessible via the rear hatch door. It also has a powerful 2.0-liter I4 engine that produces 240 horsepower. The seats are comfortable and well-cushioned. The seats also feature a 10-way power adjustment.

There are also optional features that you can add to the V60. For example, you can get a heated steering wheel or rear seats in some trim levels.

Infotainment system

Depending on the trim, Volvo’s infotainment system for the V60 includes Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Apple CarPlay can be installed via a USB cable, while Android Auto requires a Type-C cable.

Volvo has been a leader in safety technology. The V60 offers a number of safety features, including City Safety with Autobrake, which uses automatic braking to help recognize pedestrians and cyclists. The driver can also use the Sensus Connect navigation app to send a route to the car from their phone. The app can also be used to pay for parking and check fuel levels.

Volvo has invested a lot of money in in-car technologies, and it’s gotten serious about electric vehicles in the past few years. It expects to sell at least half of its cars in the EV market by 2025.

Powertrain

Whether you’re driving a traditional hatchback or an adventurous V60 Cross Country, Volvo offers you the powertrain of your choice. You can choose from a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, or a four-cylinder with an all-wheel-drive system.

The V60’s turbocharged four-cylinder engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox to send power to all four wheels. The eight-speed automatic’s performance is smooth and predictable. The engine produces 250 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It takes 6.4 seconds to reach 60 mph.

For drivers who want a more powerful engine, the T8 powertrain is available. It produces 400 horsepower and 494 pound-feet of torque. The engine features an eight-speed automatic gearbox, the same smooth eight-speed automatic found in most Volvo cars.
