On Friday, the 2023-2024 school calendar was released. This calendar includes four inclement weather days, which can be made up later with e-learning days, as well as two early dismissal days for teachers.
Elearning Days
Students enrolled in 2023-2024 school year classes will also participate in planned eLearning Days during this school year, scheduled on November 7 (asynchronous) and February 20, 2024, to provide teachers with training/professional development time as well as resources for full learning days. Since asynchronous eLearning days do not require direct supervision by teachers, accountability will be determined based on student completion of work assignments/resources provided through Canvas, which students can access at any time; attendance will be determined at the end of a 5-day work completion window for attendance purposes.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
A committee comprised of district administrators, building principals, teachers, and classified staff from across the district was responsible for creating its school calendar for 2023-2024. They received input from all staff and families through ThoughtExchange as well.
This schedule applies to NYCDOE public schools for grades K-12; for any information regarding private, parochial, or charter schools; NYC Early Education Centers/Family Child Care Programs or remote learning options during weather-related closings/emergencies or emergencies that prevent students from physically attending class due to remote learning conferences with teachers on these days please reach out directly.
